SCENIC PLEASURE FLIGHTS

An experience of a lifetime!! Treat yourself, or buy a gift certificate for a special person. Includes inflation and flight of approximately 45 minutes to one hour, plus chase vehicle transportation to your launch point, and upon landing, champagne toast (actually non-alcoholic sparkling cider), souvenir champagne glass, personalized flight certificate and return transportation to the pick-up point. Price: $200 per person. Note: Due to weather conditions, we cannot guarantee flights on a specific date, but we will attempt to accommodate such requests.

All passengers must complete a Passenger Awareness / Release of Liability Form prior to any flight.

TETHERING

Tethering requires a location of about 200' x 200', without nearby overhead power lines, and sponsor assistance with crowd control. Balloon will be moored, with passengers leaving the ground approximately fourty feet. Flight lasts about two minutes for each basket of passengers. Price with passengers: $1,000 for the first two hours and $450 for each additional hour. Tethering without riders is $50 less per hour. A travel fee of $1 per mile (one-way) outside of Morgantown also applies. A $250 deposit, plus travel fee, is required to hold the date.

BALLOON GROUND SCHOOL

Fun Aviation, Inc. conducts a balloon ground school which meets one night per week in September and October. This class is through the Monongalia County Community Schools. At the completion of the ground school, students will be eligible to sit for the FAA written examination for private pilot, lighter-than-air free balloons. BALLOON FLIGHT INSTRUCTION

Pilot instruction, leading to an FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) private or commercial balloon pilot certificate is available at $350 per hour, using Fun Aviation's equipment, or $150 per hour using student-supplied equipment.

FAA PRACTICAL FLIGHT EXAMINATIONS

Our chief pilot is a Federal Aviation Administration Designated Pilot Examiner for lighter-than-air, free balloons (both Private and Commercial Pilot examinations administered). Fee: $200 per hot air balloon pilot examination, $350 for gas balloon pilot examination. Initial exam fee includes one retest, if required.

FLYING BILLBOARD ADVERTISEMENT

People don't stop and stare at billboards, but they do stop and stare at balloons. Use a flying billboard to advertise yourself. You purchase a custom-made banner that attaches to out balloon with velcro, this makes the balloon look like it was factory-made with your ad on it. Fun Aviation will fly the banner on a routine flight for $100 per flight, or 12 flights for $1,000. This is the most cost-effective advertising dollar you can spend. Cost of banner advertising is considerably more for events such as festivals, football games, and holiday celebrations. Note: We do not fly banners or advertisements for alcoholic beverages or tobacco products.
